I was struck by a word you used in a sentence above. "Subtle". As a Christian I know that word as how satan will act towards us. In Genesis 3:1 satan is being subtil with Eve. In 2 Samuel, it was Jonadab, Amnon's 'friend'. And there are several places in the New Testament. As I was reading what you wrote, "We may say "I love my family!" but I think what we often mean by that phrase is this: "My family makes me happy! They are so precious! My kids make me smile, and my husband is so good to me!" I thought this is exactly what satan wants from us as Mom's and Wives. satan wants to make it look like we are doing something great or even just good. And it might not even be satan, it could be a friend pulling us away like Jonadab or family or even things.
This was a great reminder for me not to be complacent. I should always look for ways to make my family happy and loved. I should use Christ as my example of servant. And by using Biblical principle.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm so glad I read this today. A great reminder for me.

This was right on time for me! I've been praying about how I can show my family how much I love them. And your post was my answer. To die to myself and serve them, instead of my own selfishness . Thank you for your honesty :)
