These are perfect tips! I have a few goals on my list that aren't specific, but they're more overall goals (such as have a cleaner house). I know exactly what I mean, and I know it basically involves remembering to vacuum more than once every two weeks! But for the bigger, more important goals, specifics are laid out in my plans.
One thing I would add is not only making good goals, but keeping them close to you - keeping them visible is a great way to stay on top of them. A friend or accountability-partner is great in theory, but I know that if, say, I was not supposed to eat junk food nearly as often as I do now, most of the people I would be using an accountability partner would not be helpful! But a visible reminder that I ought not to be doing that would help keep everything easily in one's mind, no matter what the persuasion of deviation!
