I would also add that keeping your overall reasons for homeschooling in mind helps. I was recently struggling with what to do for phonics this year but after remembering that my primary reason for homeschooling was spiritual and not academic it became easier to let go of the fear and guilt over not choosing the curriculum that was strongest academically for the one that required less teacher prep, was less expensive and would also help with building biblical character.
