Have you tried gluten free? Gluten/wheat foods can make a person really tired and majorily worsen fatigue! I would keep eating healthy and ditch the gluten. Hope that helps!

I've found that ditching grains has been really good for my energy levels - since whole grains have anti-nutrients and high carb content (better than processed grains). I do still have oats, brown rice or corn now and again, but it's much much rarer now. When I fall off the wagon and succumb to a grain craving binge (eating grains at every meal for a few days in a row) I always notice more fatigue and sleep disturbances. It becomes a vicious cycle, as my sleep gets off and I'm more tired I crave more and more carbs from grains.

Funny how that works, huh. It felt like it would be so hard to give up all the free/really cheap food, but once it's done it's so much more freeing.

The sad truth is that this world is under the curse of sin, and until Christ comes to give us full redemption, there will always be sickness here. The tricky part is finding a balance between understanding that, and doing what we can to have as good of health as possible to be able to serve the Lord better. Sounds like your family is about where we are.

I completely understand, Erin. That's why it's definitely a balance, and what's right for one family is not right for everybody.

I've tried to eliminate the biggest offenders in our diet and replace them with better choices. I would love to make my own bread all the time, but I don't have boundless energy to make 6 loaves of bread/week. So far, I'm sticking with purchasing it. But I make my own bath soap (easier than making bread!!). Eating locally-sourced food sounds so wonderful, but it's so hard for me to get to more than one store. For me, it's a matter of deciding which health "battle" I feel I can successfully win without overwhelming myself.
