Couponing isn't really an option here in Canada. It's actually good to hear people say they don't do it, because most of what I read leads me to believe I'm missing out on saving a ton of money. BUT a lot of the things people rave over being super cheap or free- I wouldn't buy anyway! I'm constantly revising my "only buy organic" list and adding foods to it. Coupons for junk don't temp me one little bit.

Definitely ironic. I thought people who didn't coupon were crazy because they could be saving so much money. Now I'm sure the people who coupon think I'm crazy. I'm learning that there's no one right way for everybody, and sometimes the right way for your particular family can change too.

Don't let it bother you that you're not doing it. Just because lots of people do it doesn't mean it's the right thing for your family. Do what works for your family and don't worry about it! :)

Wow. I think it's kind of funny how the three of us (you, Christina and me) all jumped on the coupon band wagon years ago, only to jump off of it at approximately the same time ( notice that I said jump, not fall-it was a purposeful choice, at least for us). Like you, I only glance (and I do mean glance...as in my way out the door on our shopping day) at the major ads -online . We don't even get a newspaper anymore. It was a waste of $6.50 every month -all for coupons - most of which we do not use anymore.

I am also enjoying this series, MaryEllen. Great job and thanks for sharing.
