I am thankful for a wonderful family as well - the bad apples go pretty far back! I'm thankful, though, that the assurance of heaven is not dependent on the merits of one's background, but on the merits of Jesus Christ!

Isn't it a beautiful thing that our roots, our family line, don't have to define us? Such a great post reminding us that we aren't defined by our family tree (even though I have to admit I'm quite grateful for mine--I've been blessed with an incredible family). Thanks for sharing!
