As I mentioned in the post, I certainly believe there is a time and a place for rest and refreshment. We can’t do the Lord’s work if we’re drained. But I’m really afraid (from observations in my own life and in the Christian community as a whole) that we really place to much of a premium on entertainment in light of how very short our time here on earth is. There’s definitely a balance, I would agree.

In my first sentence, I meant they are good comments to be directed toward a person not in the word — Im not saying you aren’t! 🙂

I agree with you, Jenny. There’s definitely a time and a place to relax and just enjoy life. But it seems that I observe (both in my own life and the Christian community in general) that there’s just too much of a premium on having fun and forgetting just how much work we have to do in and how short our time on earth is. But no, running ourselves ragged isn’t right either; there’s definitely a balance.

I didn’t think this would be a popular post; it certainly steps on toes (including mine!) But it’s been on my heart and that’s exactly what I want to do here – edify my sisters. Thanks so much for your comment!
