LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This post. And this book. It's 100% true... we waste so much time and energy trying to live up to the Pinterest perfect mom, that we lose sight of the gifts that God gave us alone.
I saw this among my personal mommy friends on Valentine's Day... on the days leading up to the holiday, my newsfeed was full of either moms who had made the perfect homemade Valentines for their children...and those who felt guilty that they hadn't. We had actually taken the time to make some simple homemade cards ourselves (not because I felt we had to, but because I had a fun idea and figured, why not? haha). But instead of using our personally designed cards, my son decided he would rather use his store bought Peanuts cards... honestly, kids don't care about these Pinterest worthy cards...or parties...or holidays... they just need us to be there!

I often fall into a self-made pit of deprecation about my mothering skills. My sister in law is always so great about bringing me back to reality -- my kids are happy and healthy. That's what really counts!
