So interesting how different we all are isn't it? I absolutely cannot work with a rigid schedule like that! Way too overwhelming for me! But some people feel overwhelmed without it!

Yes - and thanks for this article!

I have recently put a routine in place and when I follow it, things run a lot more smoothly. Before I put a schedule together, our morning resembled this plan but ended up in pieces before we made the school run.

I am married with 2 kids (ages 6 and nearly 2), and a dog, and I work from home 20hrs/wk. My older child is in KG 9-2, M-F and baby is in nursery M-W same hours as 6-yo.

5am: up & ready
545: Work (emails and social media or website edits)
645: Walk dog
700: Snuggle with son, help him get up & ready
720: Cuddles with daughter, get her up and ready while hubby makes breakfast and feeds dog
740: Breakfast
800: Son has 1 of his 4x 15-min blocks of "screen time", playtime with daughter
815: Shoes, coats, bags - school run
845: Home, Walk dog
900: "Start" the work day M-W, or enjoy time with daughter on our Thu-Fri days off
