Yes, there's not always a black and white answer to it all, is there? We have to be constantly in tune with God's working in our heart so that we can know what the right thing is for that moment.

Oh my goodness. I went through almost exactly the same thing this spring. I made of list of what is important to me and I'm re-reading that list every morning in hopes it will sink in. It is so easy to get pulled off track into distractions that do not serve us well, nor help us live the lives we crave. I found the same problem you had though. Washing the dishes doesn't fit into my priorities anywhere at all, but it still has to be done. It still takes up time out of my day when I could be doing things that are on the priority list. It is a constant balancing act. The one thing I try to keep in mind is God doesn't care what we do. He cares about who we are and we can be who we are meant to be in any situation, regardless of whether it is washing dishes or building relationships with our family.

You are so right about the urgent! It gets so frustrating when so much of our time is spent putting out the proverbial fires that we're never actually LIVING. The Bundle really has some fabulous resources for systematizing a lot of those recurrent "have-to's" to make them more efficient so time and energy can be freed up for the "want-to's." :)
