I struggle with CFS along with a number of other things that we really don’t even know for sure yet, and it is my desire to be a blessing to others who are walking this road. Although I haven’t dealt with it nearly as long as a lot of people have, I find myself nodding my head in agreement to everything that people are saying in their responses on the survey. I think too many women endure their suffering silently, putting on a happy face in front of people, but really living in misery (ask me how I know:)). I am constantly finding out about someone else who has a chronic illness that I had no idea about. They never let on until it just became impossible to hide it anymore. I’m not saying we should all go around feeling sorry for ourselves and spouting our problems everywhere, but Christians are called to bear one another’s burdens and there’s no way others can do that if they don’t know. My husband has requested prayer for me at church a couple times when I wasn’t there, and every time I go back I get an influx of irritated (not really, but you know what I mean) people who are upset because they could have been praying for me but just didn’t know. So I want to be a help to those living with illness, their families, and those who need to be made aware of how prevalent the issue is and how they can help. I really don’t know exactly how this is going to play out; I just know I want to do something. So…that’s the short version. 🙂
