We just this year found another new crayola product that made my year I think. The dry erase colored pencils. They are firmer than they crayons, they don't smear at all, much harder for the one year old to eat, and don't wipe off super easy like the markers, but with one light spray of rubbing alcohol, and wipe of a cloth, and they are gone with out so much as a smear. This is perfect for our laminated workbooks that I want to keep each day's work in until I can photograph it and erase it. :)
