I love your story. I’m eighty years still leading an active life which includes children, quilting and other activities. I am helping my daughter homeschool seven children. I am still trying to find time for my beloved quilting. The best advice my husband ever gave me when I was young and was upset because everything in the house was not perfect and it seemed like the children were soooo demanding. He said, “just stop what you are doing and play with them for about ten minutes. That was the best info I ever got. Is it easy “no” but was I happier, yes.

Thank you for your story. I am an older homemaker and I can tell you that seeking the Lord will help you put your priorities in perspective. I would always ask myself, “What is important to Him?” I will offer this: Care and showing love to your children (and husband) are at the top of the list! ?

Thank you for the encouragement! I loved the point about working with my personality. In this day where we can watch any number of people clean their homes and learn about the routines that work for “successful“ homemakers, it can feel like we’re doing everything wrong if we don’t do something exactly as another person does. Acknowledging the way God has uniquely created and gifted us is so important. Thanks for the reminder!
